The Photography of Monica Pachecka
Jul 28th, 2007 | By admin | Category: InterviewsPersonally I wouldn’t call me a photographer as I wouldn’t describe my photos as an art. Photography is only one of my hobbies so I don’t really take my work seriously. I only do it for pure enjoyment. I’ve started photography as my hobby in the last 4 months, so I am a quite amateur. I don’t have any art education. I studied economics at the University of Warsaw. One day I just started experimenting with my camera…and it seems that some people like my photos. I am an aesthete and I seek beauty and harmony in everything around me… When I see something beautiful, I want to capture it and immortalize it forever…
My favourite colours are red and violet. The colours are very importanmt for my work. I use them to reveal through my photography the emotions and I couldn’t imagine the world only in black and white.
I look for inspiration in Spanish and Italian culture. I am fascinated of the beauty of these two Mediterranean countries, maybe because they are so different from what I see in my country, Poland.
I like Impressionist art, for example Degas, but my favourite artist is definitely Frida Kahlo. I admire her as a painter and as a person.
I’ve got two favourite pictures - La nostalgia and L’estate. I find they represent best my style.
La nostalgia
L’estate
